Module 6 Advanced Keyword Generation Strategies

Keyword Generation

This is where things can start to get out of control, in a big way. So in this Module we will dispel the myths and provide you with enough options to build a keyword list full of high value markets.

Keywords, Myths and Failures

Most people tend to push commercial keyword tools, but the entire commercial keyword tool system is fundamentally flawed, and now we can integrate bits of legacy systems into simple GUI bots then you don’t really need to use them either.

First the majority commercial keyword tools are aggregating the exact same data, all based from the same types of data sources, GOOGLE EXTERNAL KEYWORD TOOL!

It’s become this mass of same old same data sources, kinda boring, lame and over hyped, so we might as well let the cat out of the bag .

Some of us who have been around the block don’t target what majority of marketers target because you cannot afford to waste time competing with the billion and one affiliates, it’s become a battle of attrition with targeting, and there is only one way to truly dominate a market, which we will go over later..

But the fact is we have known for some time that our businesses are not protected and can never be protected long-term simply because if we participate our entire system sits online for anyone who is smart enough to reverse engineer it. We can hide our true identity online, but our sites and the link graphs and structures cannot be hidden because you cannot sell something people cannot see.

A lot of decent marketers started by reverse engineering existing network structures that WORK and RANK for money keywords.

Then we have the courses and ebooks and for the majority its massively wrong rehashed stuff that offers nothing really new, this has created a massive misconception on how to do correct keyword research…

It all starts and ends with keywords at this moment in time, that will change, it’s something like a staggering 50%+ of search queries are coming in as unique terms so things are a changing in terms of keyword accuracy which is why were preaching LOUD that keyword market and vocabulary keywords are CRITIAL, personalization wont influence anymore than an average of 1 in 4 maybe 3 depending on the search query, but keyword relationships do and will continue to change rankings.

So the obvious conclusion that has been used but not spoken about by some for well over 10 years is to focus on the actual source, THE RANKING WEBPAGES because that’s the REAL DEAL DATA.

Introducing the 2 Site Strippers

Google and Alexa Site Stripper

SiteStripper scrapes Google search for sites, then scrapes the keywords from those sites to build you a total market keyword list. This is seriously cool stuff, with the inclusion of Alexa you can now target all the main search engine traffic keywords each site is getting straight from Google.

Meta Site Stripper

If you want to just target for example 1 site and steal/borrow its keywords then do a simple site scrape in Snatch eg site:competition.com then load the list into Meta Site Stripper and check out all the meta keywords they are using sitewide.

Video of Google SiteStripper and Keyword Crusher-NOTE THIS VIDEO IS THE OLD VERSION

A site stripper is based on the concept of removing relevant related keywords from onpage content, aka rank source.  We have wrapped that basic concept into some bots for you to use.. easy….

The determination of ranking factors can be itemized and implemented more strategically by using the rank source as the main data provider, this has obviously been automated on a massive scale, but the main objective (scraping keywords) is a ton more usable for ground level keyword research to formulate a keyword and or market theme, basically just keyword list building on steroids by just straight up jacking everyone else’s keyword research..

We have included 2 basic strippers for you to start using, 1 will ask Google for the pages ranking keywords and the other will ask the site author for his/her keywords through their META Keywords.

This methods yields much more related market keywords that are actually based on human input and generation. So you’re not getting the tradition machine answer that everyone tends to use. Your actually basing the list around high quality RANKED CONTENT if you run our site strippers because we only use the TOP RESULTS as the SOURCE.

So we not only yield specific keywords, we yield results based on market vocabulary and or market keyword relationships from actual search queries and content authors, so it’s a mega ton more useful than the lame generation technique using stuff like Google External Keyword Tool.

Ranking factors are either singular, aka a one off specific ranked page or a group of nested pages forming the relationship of the pages rank. We are talking SEO and this one of the best ways to play it.

For example if you where to load up Google External Keyword Tool and type in Diet Pills you would get a “set” specific range of keywords on diet pills, however if you ask the pages ranking for diet pills what is so special about their content and keywords you will more than likely find related and market vocabulary keywords. Essentially we are providing you a tool to scrape the entire markets high value keywords :D

These are the keywords you should be targeting when building and spamming the internets.

So in a nutshell our keyword strippers will base its list off Google’s top ranking pages for a given keyword, then ask Google what keywords these pages rank and target and if you choose you can ask the sites directly what keywords their content is targeting, very simple, very effective!

On average you will build a keyword list of 2-3,000 keywords.

OLD School Keyword and Competition Techniques

Here is the typical commercial keyword tool run down from a reversed engineering perspective, which we use on all the tools we have so far discussed because it’s easier and faster to identify and estimate the market values, we just swap out the keyword source. There is no point doing competition research on a bunch 0.09c keywords with 1 visitor a month right!? You can waste half a day researching junk.. forget that..

But before we continue lets explain the level of keyword research most people tend to get to and think job done then move onto top 10 and backlink analysis..

The Autonomy of a Commercial Keyword Tool

Below is a rundown of the various keyword techniques you’re more than likely using to base decisions on whether or not a keyword is worth targeting. Bogan Marketing uses this process to only identify high value keywords. We want the market keywords, then we want the highest value keywords, then we scale the high value and target them.

Most commercial keyword tools use Google External Keyword Tool as one of their main data sources.

  1. Keywords
  2. Estimated Ad Position
  3. Estimated Avg. CPC
  4. Advertiser Competition
  5. Local Search Volume:
  6. Global Monthly Search Volume
  7. Search Volume Trends
  8. Highest Volume Occurred In

The Data they use and how they use the Data

We obviously do not collect the Keywords except using BrainStorm B to scale.

We don’t want or need Ad Position, that’s just the estimated ad position based on what you want to bid, and we have not included this option in the bots.

We want CPC, the straight up CPC, without entering our own CPC for estimated ad position, fact is though its massively inaccurate, however when you’re doing research in the 1,000s then it’s a moot point and is only used as a base figure to work out the highest value keywords.

We don’t want advertising competition, this indicates the amount of adwords advertisers.

Local and Monthly search volumes are used to calculate daily search volumes, then SEO value by multiplying the numbers by the keywords CPC, so these are critical factors.

The trends and highest volume data is also not needed at this point. These are only used to identify seasonal markets.

For the adwords calculations it’s always generally based off a single multiplier, and that’s generally the average amount of traffic adwords advertisers get which is estimated at 4.5%-5% or RANK 5 in a the SERP (search engine results page).

The rest of the data can be guesstimated based on the law of averages.

To calculate competition levels most commercial keyword tools just query Google using the following tags.

Basic Google query gives the amount of pages indexed containing the Keyword.

allintitle: Queries Google for the amount of pages indexed containing all the keywords in the title tag.

intitle: Queries Google for the amount of pages indexed containing the first keyword in the title tag.

inurl: Queries Google for the amount of pages containing the keyword in its URL.

incontent:  Queries Google for the amount of pages containing the keyword in its content.

The final query that you can use is the infamous supplemental index calculation.

http://www.google.com/search?q=site:domain.com&filter=0

http://www.google.com/search?q=site:domain.com+-inallurl:domain.com&filter=0

Notice the &filter=0 this is basically telling Google to include the omitted results. AKA supplemental results.

The majority of commercial tools will also give you the option of Broad, Phrase and Exact match keyword types, however this can be confusing for new affiliates and marketers, Broad is good if your building out sites that will contain tons of content however it returns a larger dataset, so if you’re going after specific keywords then phrase match is the most accurate and important data.

Keyword Match Types

Broad Match will show results for the entire keyword or keywords in any order. Example, Pet Insurance would show results for Insurance for Pets and Discount Pet Insurance. This is the default Google search type.

“Phrase Match” will only match the exact phrase in sequential order. Example, Pet Insurance would show results for Discount Pet Insurance and Melbourne Pet Insurance. To use phrase search in Google add quote marks around your “Phrase”.

[Exact Match] will only show results that match the exact query. Example, Melbourne Pet Insurance will only show Melbourne Pet Insurance, NOT Disco Pet Insurance.

There is also the negative match Pet Insurance –Discount will now show results that do not contain the keyword discount.

There is also the add or plus operator command Pet Insurance +Discount will now show results that contain the keyword discount.

Keyword Crusher

Now what type of training would this be without the old school keyword list building generation whatever techniques automated up to 6,000 keywords faster than you can make a coffee?

Keyword Crusher

The infamous Keyword Crusher now uses the NEW Google Adwords tool to get your keyword data, you can use a list of up to 6,000 keywords OR after the new update 1 keyword and scale it, Crusher is now the exact same tool as the majority of commercial keyword applications, it uses the same source now Google has phased out GEKT and Skool. Remember to PASTE YOUR DATA INTO THE INCLUDED TEMPLATE FILE!!!

And offcourse this is mega basic to wrap into another bot, so all you need to do is load up your keyword list and hit a button, hard work init.

The reason we use the commercial keyword tools blueprint discussed above is it’s extremely fast when used right for identifying high value keywords and markets..

Keyword Crusher will bring back data based on a list of keywords, this is used with SiteStripper keyword lists.

Module 6 Finding Markets of Value Conclusion

OK done and done, you should now have a good understanding of keyword research methods and how and why we use certain strategies.
